Building superintendent discovers secret NYPD safe house for officers monitoring innocent Muslim groups and mosques

The NYPD tried to cover it up, but the Associated Press sued and finally got the records (and the 911 call that revealed the safe house) released.

Brilliantly, the NYPD has been encouraging people to call 911 about suspicious behavior exactly like their own. In New York, we see signs in every subway: “If you see something, say something.” The police are trying hard to cultivate a culture of fear and paint themselves as the thin blue line between our cozy lives and a terroristic nightmare, while carrying out bullying policies that create a terroristic nightmare for thousands and thousands of law-abiding New York citizens.

So now I’m trying to find a police-reform-minded Democratic mayoral hopeful to support in the primaries. Because fuck the police.

Hey this is awful.
